earlysummerpalmhouseview_Small.jpgYou can also find me blogging for a few weeks over at Let in Edinburgh. It's a site about things to do, see and enjoy here in Scotland's capital city. This posting about the Edinburgh Botanic Gardens was fun to write, as it brought back memories of many idyllic days spent in this haven. I've also done a posting about last weekend's Edinburgh Moon Walk.

Writing postings about Edinburgh has, of course, got me thinking more about how I like spending time in this city and I'd like to canvas opinions from those of you who also know the city, and perhaps even, like me, grew up here. What do you most enjoy about living here? Any recommendations for great places to visit?

I love living in Edinburgh, we went to the botanics for a walk last Sunday and the kids spent a happy hour playing hide and seek as we admired the plants.

One of our favourites when my son was younger was to go and wave to the train drivers coming out of Waverley station, there is a special bridge in Princes St gardens with perspex sides and most of the drivers will wave and toot their horn for you.

I once went to a fantastic one-day workshop on mosaics. It was the first complete day without a child in tow for more years than I could remember at the time, and I loved every minute of it. I was a little artistically challenged, especially since I went with a friend who was an art teacher and very talented.

I can't remember the name of the place, but it ran all kinds of classes and workshops, and was a lovely place to be - very mellow and relaxing. Quite hippyish. I think it was very near the Botanic Gardens. Do you know it, I wonder?
